REA MCP setup for Claude Code and Cursor

Interactive setup

npx rea-agents setup

Setup shows supported agents in a multi-select. Existing REA registrations are preselected; newly detected clients stay unselected until you pick them. Review the exact paths, approve, then restart the agent.

Claude Code + Cursor in one command

Each --client flag skips the interactive question. Preview first with --dry-run (read-only):

rea setup --client claude_code --client cursor --dry-run
rea setup --client claude_code --client cursor

(Use npx rea-agents setup ... if you didn't install the CLI globally.) Add --skill=false to skip the workflow instructions.

Where the skill goes

Claude Code skills install to ~/.claude/skills (or $CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR/skills); many other integrations use ~/.agents/skills.

How do I add REA to Claude Code?

Run npx rea-agents setup and select Claude Code, or run rea setup --client claude_code. Then restart Claude Code and check with rea doctor --client claude_code --json.

How do I add REA to Cursor?

Run rea setup --client cursor (or choose Cursor in npx rea-agents setup), approve the plan and restart Cursor.

Can I preview what setup will change?

Yes. Add --dry-run to get a read-only plan, or --json for a machine-readable plan without applying it.
